We were born of the same Great Spirit 
Conceived from the same mound of earth
Slept quietly together in cradle of the unknowing until
He in HIs gentleness set us in the middle of humanity

You are my sister, I love you
You and I are destined to be companions on the highway of life together

If the color of my skin is different from yours, it mattereth not
Only let the beauty of our souls be kindred
I will honor our wisdom and understanding, as you will mine
Together we shall see the seeds of truth in the distance rooms of the Great Spirit
The reflection of inner knowledge shall wear as beauty upon our face

Thou Art My Sister


     Vanessa's continued contact with women suffering from depression, negative self-images, loneliness, guilt, shame, discouragement, and poverty led her to found Thou Art My Sister Little Sister Mentoring Program in June 2007.  Thou Art My Sister LLC was founded in March 2017.  

     Vanessa is a passionate, dynamic speaker who captivates audiences with her authenticity, high energy and natural ability to connect with any audience.  Vanessa mixes enthusiasm, passion, and music with motivational stories to inspire others and to awaken their memories of love and happiness.  She encourages them to make personal and spiritual development a priority. 

     Serving alongside her husband in pastoral ministry for over 25 years, a mother of 3 sons, a full-time career, and attending college, Vanessa learned valuable lessons about self-care.  Her failure to take care of herself led to spiritual and personal burnout.  It seemed that everywhere she went, she met someone that needed encouragement.  Despite feeling burnout, she shared moments of love, compassion, and kindness to others.  She noticed those moments of love, compassion, and listening to their stories appeared to awaken memories of their happiness.
     Meditation, music, writing, gardening, decorating, and encouraging others revived her and awakened her to the numerous possibilities to share God’s love with others.  To be loved, comforted, and affirmed is a universal human need.  There are people that love us and are around us every day.  Sometimes we don’trecognize them.
     Vanessa has learned that self-care and establishing priorities, enables a person to live a fuller and more satisfied life.  She is on a mission to show audiences worldwide that they too can be revived and recognize the love and miracles around us every day.
